The Church comes to life as God moves inside the gathered ones who have placed genuine faith in Him. Who the Son sets free is free indeed! Through Christ we have been given "the right to become children of God." In Christ, we are part of the Family of God. Have you ever wished you had more scripture memorized? Well, there's an app for that. I found this app to be really helpful. It used to be called "Scripture Typer." Now it is called "The Bible Memory App." It helps you set goals and practice in ways that will make you forget about your favorite phone diversion. They have a kids version too. So set-up an account and have fun with it. You can choose verses one by one, or select from about 50 pre-made verse libraries. It organizes your efforts and schedules out reviews so you can retain what you've memorized. It's so much better than the index cards we used to carry in our pockets! Download it with the family and challenge one another to hide God's Word in your heart. Why bother when you have a Bible app on your phone 24/7? When you memorize scripture it gets grafted into your heart in a special way. It focuses your attention on what is true and helps you to mine out all the nutrients in a passage at a heart level. Reading the Bible for yourself is one of our greatest joys as followers of Jesus! Yet we often feel overwhelmed by the size of the Bible. Maybe this graphic will give you courage! Would you believe that you could read the gospel of John (1 of Jesus biographies) in just 2 hours? You could read all of Paul's writings in less than 5 hours. The average time to read the entire New Testament is 17.5 hours. 40 of the 66 books can be read in less than 1 hour. The average American watches TV for 3 hours a day. So if we replaced just an hour of that time with reading we could read the whole New Testament in 2 and a half weeks. That's crazy right? So please don't miss the incredible joy of reading it for yourself! As you read the Bible you will encounter God personally through the scriptures like never before. Go ahead. Check it out. The Church is the body of Christ. This truth reminds us that believers are unified in Christ and gifted to serve together. The Church is to function together like a powerful, graceful, and mature body. 1 Corinthians 12 tells us that we are essential to one another and need each other more than we realize. Together, God has called us into motion for the glory of God as His hands and feet. When the one Spirit of God sets us into unified motion God is glorified, the gospel is spread, and we experience real joy. We are the body. Let's get moving!

Last Sunday we were overwhelmed by the truth that we the Church are the bride of Christ. It’s time we allowed ourselves to accept that truth and let it transform us. We are a church of missional small groups. We meet together throughout the week in homes to eat, pray, connect, and discover what God is saying to us through His Word. If you've been attending church but want a deeper connection our small groups are just what you've been looking for.

Why Church? The Church is far more dear to our God than you may imagine. He calls the Church His bride. This breathtaking truth changes everything about how we live. In Christ, God defined our relationship to Him. This kind of love leaves a mark on our hearts and deserves a response. God has not suggested Church as an activity for believers to take part in. Instead, He has made us part of the Church. Together we are the bride Christ and we eagerly await the return of the groom.

We are prayerfully packing 1500 boxes filled with gifts, love, and the gospel for kids all over the world. We love our church family! Praise God for providing these gifts for children. Thank you to all who have served and given to make this happen!
